Phonak and Unitron hearing aids
Phonak and Unitron offer hearing aids in BTE & RIC behind-the-ear models as well as in-ear (ITE). RIC (Reciver-in-canal) is a discreet behind-the-ear model where the speaker sits in the ear canal compared to BTE which has all the hearing technology in the hearing aid. The smallest hearing aid is the in-ear model which sits completely in the ear canal.

- BTE (Behind-the-ear) is a hearing aid that rests behind the ear. Sound is transmitted through a sound tube with an individually moulded insert that sits in the ear.
- RIC (Receiver-in-canal) a slightly smaller hearing aid that rests discreetly behind the ear. It is now the most common model of hearing aid, with the speaker at the end of the tube in the ear canal.
- ITE (In-the-ear) is the smallest model of hearing aid that fits completely in the ear. Often these come as individually moulded inserts tailored to your hearing path.
