Chargers for hearing aids
New models of hearing aids are rechargeable and you can buy charging stations for both home and travel here. Each hearing aid manufacturer has its own charger for the hearing aid and check carefully before you buy to make sure your hearing aid works to recharge.
How long does a recharge last?
Today, a recharge often lasts all day when your hearing aid is new. To use your rechargeable hearing aid, it is a good idea to charge it overnight. Many charging stations have a 30-minute fast-charge option that allows you to use your hearing aid during a social event, but often it won't last longer than that.
Travel charger for hearing aid
Today, there are charging stations with a built-in or external powerbank/battery that allow you to take the charging station with you on the go. A good power bank can provide up to 3-7 full charges of your hearing aid. Remember to charge the power bank before you leave on your trip.
Clean before charging
Remember to wipe your hearing aids clean before using a charging station. This will extend the life of both the hearing aid and the charging station. In addition, it may be a good idea to wipe your hearing aids clean again before you start using them. In particular, check the domes and wax filters before putting the hearing aid back in your ear. Dirt and old earwax can cause an irritating feeling in the ear and, in the worst case, lead to infections.
