How long does the battery last in a hearing aid?
The lifetime of a hearing aid battery is between 7 and 14 days, however there are several factors that affect the actual lifetime. Do you have a hearing aid with several special features? Do you have a severe hearing loss? These are two different factors that affect how long your hearing aid battery will last. A digital hearing aid with multiple features can reduce the life per battery to between 3 and 5 days. These factors affect hearing aid battery life:
- Wireless accessories reduce battery life, such as streaming audio from your TV or mobile.
- Do you have a severe hearing loss? Then your hearing aid needs better amplification of the sound, which affects its lifespan.
- Newer hearing aids have several special features to help you hear, these features affect the life of your hearing battery.
- Are you in a quiet or noisy environment? Noisier environments tend to affect the life of your hearing battery.
How should I store my hearing aid batteries?
All our hearing aid batteries are date-stamped and you can easily store your hearing aid batteries for 3-4 years before they get too old. However, there are a few things you should keep in mind when storing your batteries:
- store hearing aid batteries at room temperature and not in the refrigerator
- store hearing aid batteries in their original packaging
- keep hearing aid batteries out of the reach of children and pets
